Curiosity Lab
Curiosity Lab
Monday-Friday 3:15 pm - 5:45 pm
Curiosity Lab is an experimental learning environment rooted in the belief that children thrive when their innate curiosity is trusted, respected, and given space to unfold. Designed as a mixed-age, child-led program, the Lab placed autonomy at the center of its philosophy—providing just enough structure to ensure mutual respect and cooperation, while leaving the rest to the children themselves.
Each day unfolds according to the evolving interests and energy of the group. Children are free to initiate projects, games, inquiries, or quiet moments—and can choose whether to seek support from an adult or a peer, or to continue independently. This openness encourages self-direction and reveals the extraordinary depth of children’s intrinsic motivation.
Linguistic diversity and bilingualism are lived as practice. Following the one adult–one language principle, native Italian speakers and native English speakers model authentic real-time multilingual communication.
Lab operates as a true micro-community: rules are minimal but meaningful, and every voice matters. Decisions are often made collaboratively, while the mixed-age format supports mentorship and social learning, allowing younger and older children to inspire one another outside the confines of age.
At its heart, Curiosity Lab is a quiet act of trust: trust in the child’s ability to learn, to lead, and to co-create an environment of meaning and peace.
