Italian Summer Camp 2026
Un’estate Italiana
Scuola Fermi’s summer program is designed to support meaningful bilingual growth. Children who already understand or speak Italian deepen their expressive, cultural, and creative abilities, while children coming from non-Italian monolingual backgrounds begin acquiring the language through a combination of explicit instruction and immersive, experience-based learning.
Activities are designed so that children can engage at an appropriate level through storytelling, science explorations, theater, and Italian-language projects that encourage thinking and creativity.
Our camp is open to children ages 4 to 8. Children under the age of four are admitted only if they are currently enrolled at Scuola Fermi.*
Field trips
Over the course of the six weeks, the camp will include approximately 8–10 field trips, with a weekly visit to Montrose Beach and additional outings to museums, the zoo, and other local destinations. Specific details will be shared closer to the start of camp.
Each child will also receive a Language Camp welcome package, including a camp t-shirt to be worn on field trips and basic school supplies.
A bespoke program
The program is coordinated by Angela Gloninger, M.A., an experienced summer camp director who will oversee planning, staff training, and implementation. Angela brings extensive experience designing and running summer programs, including coordinating camps at the Lycée Français Chicago on behalf of Scuola Fermi. She will also host Q&A sessions for families ahead of the start of each camp block.
